Lexington: The First Continential Congress decided on boycotting imported and exported goods. They also created a militia (civilian army).

Saratoga: General George Washington decided to set free the African slaves and let them fight with the army. The British wouldn't allow that to happen so, they planned to ambush the Continental Army.

Yorktown: The colonies won Saratoga but were forced to continue fighting through the harsh winter. Benedict Arnold (One of America's best officers) turned traitor. All of America's spies informed Washington and Layafette on the British plans.
