    The Cultural Revolution in China occurred during the reign of Mao Zedong. The term ''cultural revolution'' is misleading, as this was an organized operation for strengthening the power and elimination of everyone who had different opinion to Mao.

    Groups of young people were organized so that they set order across the country. Not just that, but they were ordered to eliminate everyone who was opposing Mao and his ideals. Mao with his closest people and military was quick to react and to take down multiple members of the CPC because they wanted to establish capitalism in the country. Mao was ruthless and eliminated them. The end result of the Cultural Revolution was mass death, with estimates ranging anywhere from hundreds of thousands to 20 million people.
