Protect, Enhance or Construct Dunes. Sand dunes provide natural coastalprotection against storm surge and high waves, preventing or reducing coastal flooding and structural damage, as well as providing important ecological habitat. They also act as sand storage areas, supplying sand to eroded beaches.
