They felt as if there were many trade abuses and there was a depletion of vital resources for the tribes, such as deer, which were very important for the livelihood of these tribes. It is important to note that the Yemassee were not one tribe, but that were many tribes who fought, and that they had similar but also different reasons for fighting the South Carolina settlers and some had more commitment to fighting while others didn't have as much.
