How were the political conditions in Germany and Japan similar after World War II

    They were both a mess. Japan's government had been run my the army during the war so when they were defeated, they didn't really have a ruler because their emperor was more of an icon than anything so they were at a standstill while in Germany, their leader committed suicide and the rest of his subordinets were all trialed as war criminals and most of them were executed. So the political situation is both areas was rough.
