Gianna is terrified of roller coasters. According to the opponent-process theory, if she goes on one, she will be frightened as she enters the ride but elated and relieved when it is over. She can eventually decrease her fear of roller coasters by repeatedly riding them. Will her positive feelings after each ride diminish as well?

    No, they won't, because she will overcome her fear the more she rides the roller coaster, therfore meaning that she will gain more posotive thoughts than negative thoughts, speaking psychologically, because when one overcomes something, such as a fear, they will feel happy and will be filled with joy.
