Are individuals empowered and do they understand their human rights or when their or the rights of others are being voilated

I think individuals should be empowered to know their rights and understand them because they would know when their rights or others are violated. The best thing for people to be empowered is through intense education. Sadly, not every country have this and sometimes individuals are not aware that they have a right or rights.
