    This basically means freedom of speech. This means that a newspaper or television source could publish anything story, no matter how controversial.

    Mostly, freedom of the press means that television, newspapers, magazines and other media sources can publish truthful reports-even if they are controversial-without interference from the government. The protection offered by the First Amendment wasn't always clear.
