In act 1 scene 2 of a christmas carol:scrooge and marley, why does scrooge object to people enjoying christmas

    He only cares about making money. That's why he believes that Christmas only obstructs the business since people don't focus on work but rather on celebrating and having fun. Also, people go on holidays so he earns less then since there's no business during Christmas.
