The Vedas are the oldest known Hindu scriptures, composed by the Vedic Aryans between 500 and 1,500 years ago, are the oldest known Hindu scriptures. (Many Hindus believe them to be of divine origin, without human authorship, and having existed since the dawn of time.) Nearly every Hindu recognizes the spiritual authority of the Vedas.
