It is likely to be effective when it is in a supportive relationship. It is because it is more suited for parents to be strict and monitor their children when they know that they are acting this way because of the reason that they think it is best for their children and in a way that they are supporting them. That is why parental monitoring is advised to be done in a way they are supporting their children and in a way that they are trying to give what is best for them.
