Between what dates did the major pattern of change in the western civilization occur? What are the major historical trends?

    This period is called the "Age of Reason" or "Period of Enlightenment". This occured a some historians says between 1685-1815. Major scientific discoveries were made during this period, such as the Law of Motion and Gravity. There are also a huge movement against colonization with the Declaration of Independence signed during this period.
