If g (x) = x2+x what is the value of g (-3)

    What we do here is substitute (-3) for x:

    g (-3) = (-3) * 2 + (-3)

    calculating:

    g (-3) = - 6 + (-3)

    g (-3) = - 6-3

    g (-3) = - 9: this is the answer.
