The question is making reference to the protests surrounding the Iranian Presidential election in 2009. These protests continues long after the president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad had been inaugurated, and were to show the people's support for alternative candidates Mehdi Karroubi and Mir-Hossein Mousavi as well as to demonstrate more general frustration with the corrupt Iranian political system.
