    I believe the answer is: The Muslim people desired a nation of their own.

    The Belief system among the Muslim and Hindu people in india often caused a lot of conflict between the two groups.

    Because of this, they decided to form separate governments. The muslim people could occupy the region that is now known as Pakistan while Hindu people could occupy India.
