In terms of transportation and communication, the railway system and the steamboat were the best forms of advancement during those period. For farming and manufacturing, there were more available industries in the North compared to the other regions of the US. Many people have migrated to this part of the US in search for new opportunities to expand their business, whether it be agricultural or manufacturing.
