This change did not affect the evolution of beak size in the medium ground finch population because s mall beaks will be favored under rainfall conditions.

The medium ground finch has a beak that look likes stubby and eats generally seeds. The thing that Medium ground finches a decent subject for an investigation of evolution is that they are variable in size and shape.
