Why is light not a reactant or a product in photosynthesis?

It’s because the light isn’t "used" in the reaction. It provides the energy needed, but it is not changed by the reaction. For instance, you CO2 going in and glucose coming out, but the light is simply absorbed.

It’s the same reason why heat isn’t listed as a reactant in other reactions.
