Loss of fibrinogen in blood plasma leads to ecxessive bleeding. fibrinogen is an important protein that works hand in hand with throbin.

It is converted upon vascular injury into fibrins by an enzymetic process. consequently fibrin limits the activity of throbin in a process known as anti-throbin 1. Binding throbin limits blood clotting.

Reduction in anti-throbin 1 process leads to excessive blood clotting and thrombosis.
