    B. warmth - increased production of pyrogens

    Explanation:

During the inflammatory response, the release of histamine by mast cells at the site of injury or pathogenic infection occurs. Histamine is a vasodilator and widens the blood vessels to increase the blood flow towards the affected site. The resultant increased blood supply to the affected site produces warmth. Histamine also makes the capillaries at the inflammation site more permeable to allow leakage of tissue fluid resulting in swelling due to buildup of tissue fluid.
