    True

    Explanation:

The liver is the heaviest gland of the body and is composed of hepatocytes, bile canaliculi, and hepatic sinusoids. The hepatocytes of the liver serve a secretory and endocrine function. Hepatocytes secrete a yellow-brownish liquid which in turn serve as both excretory product and digestive secretion.

The hepatic cells also remove the toxic substances from the blood as the blood from the hepatic portal vein passes through the liver. Bile from the liver is stored in the gallbladder and is released into the duodenum. Bile contains pigment bilirubin and bile salts. Bile salts serve in the emulsification of lipids. The liver also makes plasma proteins such as albumin and fibrinogen, excretes bilirubin which is a breakdown product of hemoglobin in bile.
