Hydrofluoric acid (HF) can be dissolved in pure water. Will the pH of the solution be greater or less than 7? Explain.

    Explanation:

    Hydrofluoric acid is a corrosive acid that is undoubtedly a weak acid. HF not being strong acid is because it does not dissociate in water completely. Also, the chemical bond between hydrogen and fluorine is a polar covalent bond.

    It polar covalent bond makes this acid pH less than seven because the mixture would lead to the pH level of water to decrease. Hence the pH 7 is neutral
