    Erosion and weathering both are geological processes. In erosion the top or subsurface of the soil is removed as sediment, it is transported and deposited to other locations by physical forces such as water and wind. Weathering is a different from erosion in the sense that weathering involves the breakage of rocks or any other solid materials into small parts or sediments by the action of physical agents such as wind, water, oxidizing agent or chemical but this does not involve the movement of withered material to the other location.
