When a blood vessel is injured,
1. Th e walls of the blood vessel contract to limit the flow of flowing blood to the injured area.
2. P latelets stick to the injured site and spread along the blood vessel to stop further bleeding.
3. chemical signals are released from inside the platelets that attract other cells to the area and make them clump together to form a platelet plug.
4. Then, coagulation cascade occurs that acts like a mesh to stop the bleeding.
