How might carnivores be affected by a decline in the number of producers in an ecosystem?

They would not have food and/or mates

They will start to die off from hunger so the producers grow in numbers so the carnivores get more food so they grow in numbers and the producers decline and it keeps on going on like that (it's a never ending cycle).
