Bryophytes are known as nonvascular plants. what makes them nonvascular?

    The answer is that bryophytes do not have a xylem and a phloem. Bryophytes do not have the vascular transport system that is found in angiosperms and gymnosperms. They get food and distribute nutrients by diffusion from cell to cell.
