John is an alcoholic. he recently signed a contract to buy a very expensive home. prior to signing the contract, he had six or eight cocktails. what is likely to happen with the contract?

    The most likely outcome is that the court will rule the contract voidable, making possible for John to avoid the contract.

    Contracts require some conditions to be created according to the law of contracts. One of the conditions is that both parties must agree to the terms of the contract, usually referred as meeting of the minds. Since John was impaired (drunk) during the meeting of the minds, he was incapable to understand the terms he was agreeing to.
