A sole proprietor should have at least one computer. A computer is pretty viable in this day and age to advertise and communicate with consumers and potential consumers. A sole proprietor is someone who runs a business as themself, not through an LLC or business EIN. They use their social secutiy number to associate the business and for tax purposes.
