    m = 288 g

    Explanation:

    1) dа ta:

    a) d = 19.2 g/cm³

    b) ΔV water = 15.0 ml

    c) m = ?

    2) Principles and formula:

    density = mass / volume

    d = m / v

    The volume of water displaced, i. e. the increase in the level of water, is equal to the volume of the gold nugget submerged.

    The unit ml (mililiter) is equal to the unit cm³

    3) Solution:

    a) v = ΔV water = 15.0 ml = 15 cm³

    b) d = m / v ⇒ m = d * v = 19.2 g/cm³ * 15 cm³ = 288 g.
