    Metalloids are the substances which show properties of both metals and non-metals.

    Metalloids are moderately able to conduct heat and electricity. And, generally metalloids are solid at room temperature.

    They are also able to react with other molecules like metals.

    For example, boron, silicon, germanium etc are metalloids.

    All of them contains different number of protons and neutrons.

    Metals are good conductors of heat ant electricity and generally they are solid at room temperature. Metals have a shiny surface and they are also malleable and ductile.

    On the other hand, non-metals are bad conductors of heat and electricity. They are brittle and non-shiny in nature.

    Thus, we can conclude that the statement they have properties of both metals and nonmetals.
