An atom is too small to be seen so that is why models are so useful. Along with the moon or the bone structure of an animal that existed 200, 000 years ago, you cant just see those tings with the naked eye at all times, but with a model you can have that by your side and be able to look at it and study or learn what you need to.

Scientists spend a great deal of time building, testing, comparing and revising models, and much journal space is dedicated to introducing, applying and interpreting these valuable tools.
