    An example of a polar covalent molecule is H2O.

    Hydrogen bonds are basically dipole-dipole interactions between molecules of water. This is an intermolecular phenomena, but is specifically called dipole-dipole interaction. So the molecules themselves must be dipoles since the polar covalent bonds and differences in electronegativity cause partial positive and negative charges forming 2 poles, hence di-pole.
