First, use formula, number of mole = given weight / molecular weight
given, weight of Carbon dioxide = 4.4 g
as we know, molecular weight of CO2 = atomic mass of C + 2 * atomic mass of O
we know, atomic mass of oxygen, {e. g., O} is 16g/mol
and atomic mass of carbon {e. g., C} is 12g/mol
so, molecular mass of CO2 = 12 + 2 * 16 = 12 + 32 = 44g/mol
now, number of mole = 4.4/44 = 0.1
A basic concept is that, 1 mole of an ideal gas at STP occupied 22. 4L volume.
so, 0.1 mole of CO2 occupied 22.4 * 0.1 = 2.24L volume at STP { standard temperature and pressure}.
the answer should be 2.24L
