Atom A's electrons tend to move farther away from the nucleus, and Atom B's electron tends to stay closer to the nucleus. Which atom do you think would have a higher electronegativity if Atom A and Atom B bonded together?

    The difference in the electronegativity values of the atoms involving in a covalent bond must not exceed the value of 1.7.

    The electrons in case of atom B are close to the nucleus and in case of atom N are far from the nucleus. Thus, when they form a bond, Atom B has higher electronegativity than atom A.
