Animals which live in groups or herds show significant signs of succession. Animals such as elephants follow the eldest female elephant for orders and immediately upon the death of their leader the next eldest or powerful female elephant leads the herd. Similarly pet animals generally accept one among them as their leader. But we can say that their are many such animals that do not need succession.
