Why are alkenes considered "unsaturated "

a. They contain only single bonds

c. They do not form polymers

b. They are composed of carbon molecules

d. They contain double bonds

    D, they contain double bonds. only alkanes are considered saturate, it slips my mind as to whether this is due to the fact that they contain the maximum number of hydrogens specifically or bonds generally, though i think its the latter
