The chemical name for SO3 is sulfur trioxide. Sulfur trioxide is part of acid rain. It also appears as a colorless and odorless gas. This substance is considered as hazardous. One of the reasons is that when this gas combines with water, it reacts and form sulfuric acid which is very hazardous and corrosive.
