Burning wood is a chemical change because you can't recover the wood by a reverse process.

Cooking an egg is a chemical change because you can't recover the egg by a reverse process
Chemical Change!
Rusting Iron is a chemical change because you can't recover the iron by a reverse process
these are all chemical changes.
