When you put a label on someone, like "lazy", "stupid", "selfish" for example one should look into oneself to see if any of these labels has applied to your own behaviour in the past and to recognize that things are not always what they seem. For example, someone who seems selfish and self-centred or self-preoccupied may have a genuine trauma in their life such as a relative with a very serious mental or developmental disability who may not be doing very well and may require a lot of extra care so that the selfish-appearing person is actually exhausted and burnt out so literally can't respond to other people's needs.
