Gatsby believes that the past can be repeated. Is he right?

    Yes the past can repeat itself. Say war for example or something as little as people stealing or something like that. Us people have to be aware that something like that can happen. Take 9/11 catastrophe ... if we didn't have security in airports and on airplanes as we do know, that could happen again. So yes history "can" repeat itself
