From the excerpt, Lucy is an inquisitive child who was hiding in a wardrobe as she was a bit frightened and curious at the same time.

She was on the lookout for any sign of danger and because of that she left the wardrobe partially open so she can make a fast escape in case anything went wrong.

Lucy proved that while we can be curious and daring, we should always use common sense.
