Which Roman leader unified Rome after a series of civil wars and was declared their absolute ruler?

    I think it was Octavian Augustus. He was given a crown of oak leaves to signify divinity; these were usually given out to people who saved someone's life during battle (different leaves were used), but he was given this one because he 'saved' all the people of the Roman Empire with his fantastic leadership.
