How do societies organize the way they produce distribute and consume goods?

There are multiple ways how societies can produce and distribute as well as consume goods. Two major and most known ways are capitalism and communism. In one case goods are freely consumed and produced based on the demands of the market and in the other case goods are created on a country-based order.
