Currently, the state of Texas has 38 electoral votes.
The 538 total electoral votes are allocated based on population figures from the US Census. The 2010 Census was used for the 2012 and 2016 elections, and will also be used for the 2020 election year. After that, the allocation of electoral votes may change based on the 2020 Census.
