How did the ordinance of South Carolina lead to civil war

    The Civil War officially began with the Battle of Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was a Union fort in the harbor of Charleston, South Carolina. After the U. S. Army troops inside the fort refused to vacate it, Confederate forces opened fire on the fort with cannons.
