Germans resentment of its provisions is expressed in this passage when Germany was asked to sign the disgraceful treaty of Versailles.

    Explanation:

Treaty of Versailles was signed between the allied powers and Germany and marked the official end of the world war I. The treaty as Germans quoted is considered to be disgraceful because it did not dictate peace directly but it had provisions which demanded Germany to accept that it is solely responsible to instigate the brutal war and also demanded huge war reparation charges which was magnanimous that it made the German economy to be weak and unstable. Germany was disarmed, forced to give up its territory to France. Billions of Mark were paid to the allied powers by Germany.

Germany felt embarrassed and found the treaty to be harsh and merciless. It also claimed with vengeance that it would make a mark in the history of nation for the disgraced it suffered.
