In the absolute monarchy, the monarch holds the supreme or absolute powers, whereas in the constitutional monarchy, the head of state is a hereditary or elected monarch, this is the main difference.

The difference between a absolute monarch and a constitutional monarch is that an absolute monarch holds the supreme or absolute powers and controls everything and his word is absolute. While a constitutional monarch is elected within a state allowing people to have some sort of power on what they choose.
