What do american impedance, women's right, and civil rights all have in common

I feel like this is the beginning of a joke. But in all seriousness one common trait all of these have in common is that they granted rights to the people. Independence granted the right to the country to be free from Britain and create and pass laws. Woman's rights gave women the right to vote and be equal in the society. Civil rights gave minorities equal rights.
