Puritans were the English people of the time period of 16th and the 17th century who wanted to purify and maintain the churches of England. The puritans saw the new world and moved there so that they could practice their religious practices in the new world because these people broke away from the roman catholic church in the 1500s.

The new community that they created in this new world was also well developed and organised ad this community provided land where these puritans could settle down but was dominated by England in the beginning.
