How did the Cold War affect the development of the global age? And how did it affect the occurrence of a global economy, new technologies, global terrorism, and the spread of disease?

    The cold war was the period after world war two, when there was heightened geopolitical tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union and their allies. The cold war had a huge effect on nation-states and world affairs.

    After the fall of the Soviet Union, the United States became the major global superpower. The United States held military alliances with many countries and continued large scale military funding and development.

    Development of military weapons such as nuclear warheads, missiles and defensive systems continued. The risk of terrorism increased on the aftermath of the cold war as there was a lot of weapons available to terrorists in many countries.

    Development of nuclear weapons brought exposure to radiation and radiation-related diseases such as cancer and birth defects. The world economy was split between capitalist and communist systems.
